We have been worm farmers since 2009, we handle our worms with respect and the utmost care in their diet, which is based on selected compost mixtures made by ourselves.

WORM REMOVAL

Before leaving the humus to mature, we try to remove the worms from the beds with an enriched compost preparation.

WORM BEDS

In the last years we prepare covered beds to avoid losses due to leaching of the nutrients contained in our productions.

ORGANIC AMENDMENTS: COMPOST

We prepare compost-food for our worms, and advise our clients on Advanced Composting Techniques and Sustainable Soil Management

COMPOSTATION PILE PHASE I (MESOPHILA)

It usually lasts 7-14 days and temperatures close to 40ºC are reached, the Ph begins to decrease towards values ​​of around 5.5

COMPOSTATION BATTERY PHASE II (THERMOPHILIC)

STAGE III COMPOSTING BATTERY (COOLING)

When practically all the organic matter has been transformed, the temperature drops, again the mesophilic microorganisms act by degrading the remaining cellulose and lignin.

The pH stabilizes and the production of a large amount of humic substances begins.

COMPOSTING PILE PHASE IIII (MATURATION)

 

This period is essential for stabilizing the pH of the compost to values ​​close to neutrality, usually lasting 3-9 months

Compost piles are covered with straw to avoid losses due to the action of external weather agents, this straw is no longer incorporated into the pile, it is removed before extraction
